Remnants from Pantopaque myelography in the base of the skull cisterns

Presentation

CT scan for investigation of dementia.

Patient Data

Age: 82
Gender: Male

There are multiple small foci of hyperattenuating material (metal attenuation) scattered into the CSF circulation spaces at the skull base (extra-axial).

Also, the brain parenchyma shows sequela of a previous left nucleus-capsular region infarct. 

Case Discussion

Pantopaque is a no-longer-used oily contrast medium for myelography.
