Presentation

Atrial fibrillation, in ICU. Has developed heparin induced thrombotic thrombocytopaenia syndrome.

Patient Data

Age: 75 years
Gender: Male

Wedge-shaped hypodensity in the posterior inferior spleen and posterior inferior right kidney are compatible with focal infarcts. There is calcification at the ostia of the celiac trunk and both renal arteries without significant stenosis.

Case Discussion

Thromboembolic renal and splenic infarction likely of cardiac origin.
