Renal angiomyolipoma

Presentation

Work up for flank pain.

Patient Data

Age: 35 years
Gender: Female
ct

A 16 mm well defined fat density mass is present in the posteromedial aspect of mid portion of left kidney. In addition, similar lesions measuring 7 mm and 6 mm are noted in the upper pole of the left and right kidneys respectively. Features are most consistent with angiomyolipomas. 

Incidental 8 mm cyst is present in segment VI of the liver.

Small fat containing umbilical hernia is present.

Case Discussion

Bilateral renal fat-containing lesions, most consistent with angiomyolipoma which is considered the most common benign solid renal lesion and also the most common fat-containing lesions of the kidneys
