Left kidney considerably decreased size (63 x 35 mm) and also has multiple calculi with sizes up to 6-8 mm, more in middle to lower poles.
6 mm calculus in left distal ureter, adjacent to the VUJ with upstream hydroureteronephrosis.
Compensatory enlarged right kidney is seen.
Case Discussion
The case illustrates the non-contrast MDCT features of renal calculi, ureteric calculus, and chronic kidney disease. One of the major causes of chronic kidney disease is recurrent renal calculi complicated by secondary infection.
