Renal cell carcinoma

Hematuria at a routine examination. Prior ultrasound examination (images not available) revealed right renal solid mass.

Patient Data

Age: 65 years
Gender: Male

CT IVP (selected images)

Solid renal mass with soft tissue attenuation and heterogeneous enhancement on contrast phases. No locoregional or distant metastatic disease identified. 

Case Discussion

The patient underwent nephrectomy, which confirmed the diagnosis of a renal cell carcinoma (RCC)

RCC is a malignant tumour derived from the renal epithelium being the most common malignant renal tumour, with a variety of radiographic appearances.
