Presentation

Incidental finding in CT scan of a patient with cough and breath shortness.

Patient Data

Age: 60 years
Gender: Male

Patchy subpleural and intraparenchymal opacities are seen in both lungs, suggestive of COVID19 pneumonia.

In imaged portions of the abdomen and complementary abdominopelvic images, a 150×145×140 mm well defined hetero-enhancing mass is present at the lower pole of the left kidney.

In addition, a 75 mm simple cortical cyst is noted in the right kidney. 

The prostate gland is enlarged. 

Case Discussion

The patient had positive RT-PCR for COVID 19. After isolation and COVID 19 assay, the patient underwent a left nephrectomy, and the histopathology evaluation confirmed renal cell carcinoma.
