Renal cell carcinoma

Right-sided abdominal colic for 1 day. History of trauma 3 days ago. Radiograph of the pelvis: undisplaced fracture of right superior and inferior pubic rami.

Patient Data

Age: 60 years
Gender: Female

A solid mass is seen on the upper pole of the left kidney. It is mildly hyperechoic to renal parenchyma and shows vascularity on Color Doppler.

Normal right kidney.

Case Discussion

Right-sided abdominal colic was due to right vesicoureteric junction calculus. Mild hydroureter was present without hydronephrosis (images not uploaded).

Incidentally found left renal solid lesion was further investigated.

Left nephrectomy was done.

Histopathology - Renal cell carcinoma.
