Renal cell carcinoma

Presentation

Left flank pain and fullness.

Patient Data

Age: 70 years
Gender: Male
ct

A 10 mm low-enhancing mass is present at segment V of the liver.

A 138×132×113 mm hetero-enhancing mass is present at lower pole of left kidney, accompanied by surrounding fat stranding. Fat plane between the mass and adjacent psoas muscle is obliterated. There is no sign of local invasion to other adjacent structures and no vascular extension.

Multiple lymphadenopathies are seen at para-aortic regions with maximum SAD of 30 mm.

Additionally, several simple cortical cysts are seen at both kidneys less than 38 mm. A 3 mm stone is present at upper calyx of right kidney. 

The prostate gland is enlarged.

Pathology proven left renal cell carcinoma (papillary type) with local invasion and para aortic lymphadenopathies.
