Renal cell carcinoma

Diagnosis almost certain

Presentation

Left flank pain and hematuria.

Patient Data

Age: 50 years
Gender: Male
ct

A 50 mm heterogeneous solid enhancing mass is seen at middle pole of left kidney accompanied by perinephric fat stranding and a few dilated perinephric collateral vessels.
There is no sign of vascular extension or adjacent organs invasion. There is no fat component within mass.

There is a 8 mm low enhancing mass is seen at 6th hepatic segment.

A 13 mm hypodense focus is seen at lower pole of spleen which shows delayed enhancement.

Case Discussion

The patient underwent left nephrectomy and histopathologic evaluation confirms renal cell carcinoma (clear cell subtype).

Splenic and hepatic lesions are consistent with hemangioma (correlated with ultrasonography finding).
