Abnormal chest radiograph on routine exam

Patient Data

Age: 55 years
Gender: Male

Multiple variable sized rounded pulmonary nodules and masses scattered in both lungs.

There is a large heterogenous mass infiltrating the posterior aspect of the right kidney, perirenal space and Gerota's fascia and displacing the rest of the kidney anterioromedially. Fat smudging of the retroperitoneal region is also noted. There are hemorrhagic foci and necrotic areas within the lesion.

Multiple bilateral variable sized pulmonary nodules and left basal pleural thickening are noted.

Diagnosis: Renal cell carcinoma with multiple pulmonary metastatic deposits.
