Renal forniceal rupture from ureteric calculus

Presentation

Sudden onset left loin pain.

Patient Data

Age: 50 years
Gender: Male
Left VUJ 3 mm calculus with mild left hydroureter and hydronephrosis. Low density posterior to the left kidney is suggestive of forniceal rupture and a small urinoma.

Case Discussion

Renal forniceal rupture occurs in cases of ureteric obstruction, most commonly from a calculus.
