Renal, splenic and hepatic lacerations from blunt trauma

Presentation

Motor vehicle accident.

Patient Data

Age: 14 years
Gender: Male

High-grade lacerations to the spleen and left kidney, with devascularisation of the inferior renal pole. Laceration through the right liver lobe. Large haemoperitoneum. 

Modality: DSA (angiography)

Perfused upper half left kidney with small pseudoaneurysm.

10 day follow-up

Modality: CT

Liver and splenic lacerations show organising haematoma. Only the upper pole of the left kidney is perfused.
