Preterm neonate. Emergency C-section. Increased oxygen requirement. On NCPAP.

Widespread granular opacification through both lungs with extensive airspace consolidation.

Case Discussion

In a preterm neonate, the appearances here represent respiratory distress syndrome due to surfactant deficiency.
