Presentation

Cough and SOB.

Patient Data

Age: 65 years
Gender: Male
X-ray

Sternotomy.

Retained pacing wire over the left heart.

Mild cardiomegaly. Lungs clear.

Prior cardiac surgery.

Short segment of wire projected over the left heart border in keeping with a retain pacing wire.

It is important to identify retaining pacing wires if an MRI is to be undertaken.
