Retroaortic left renal vein: type III

Type III retroaortic left renal vein is also known as a circumaortic renal vein or an aortic collar. It is characterized by double limbs, one coursing in front of the aorta, and the other one coursing behind the aorta, in front of the vertebral body.

Retroaortic left renal vein is a normal variant that may present with hematuria and flank pain.
