Presentation

Right Achilles insertion region pain for last 3 months.

Patient Data

Age: 30 years
Gender: Male
ultrasound
  • Achilles tendon - Intact. Diffuse thickening, mild hypoechoic echopattern and hypervascularity in the distal tendon.
  • Retrocalcaneal bursa - Anechoic fluid ( 17 x 6 x 6 mm ) present
  • Retroachilles bursa - No fluid
  • Retrocalcaneal fat pad - Increased echogenicity and vascularity.
  • Asymptomatic side shows normal findings.

Ultrasound findings of distal Achilles mild tendinosis, retrocalcaneal bursitis, and retrocalcaneal fat pad inflammation.
