Barton fractures are distal radius fractures that extend to the articular surface with dislocation of the carpal bones. They can be classified as volar-type Barton fracture (also known as reverse Barton fracture)., in which the carpal bones are displaced anterior or dorsal-type Barton fracture. Fracture of the ulnar styloid process is a common association.
