Comminuted intra-articular fracture of the distal radius with volar displacement of the carpal bones associated with avulsion of the ulnar styloid process.

Case Discussion

Barton fractures are distal radius fractures that extend to the articular surface with dislocation of the carpal bones. They can be classified as volar-type Barton fracture (also known as reverse Barton fracture), in which the carpal bones are displaced anteriorly, or dorsal-type Barton fracture. Fracture of the ulnar styloid process is a common association.
