Rheumatoid disease is a multi-system disorder, most associated with musculoskeletal manifestations.
It is usually a seropositive arthrititis, characterised by an erosive arthropathy.
A large component of modern care of these diseases is early aggressive treatment, including with biological therapies, before the radiographic findings become apparent.
The patient was a known rheumatoid arthritis sufferer.
