Hand deformity, needing baseline CXR prior to initiating therapy.

Patient Data

Age: 50 years
Gender: Female

Erosion and fragmentation of the left lateral clavicle. There is mild surrounding soft tissue swelling.

Case Discussion

Erosions of the distal clavicle can be seen with multiple conditions such as rheumatoid arthritis, hyperparathyroidism, and post-trauma. Rheumatoid arthritis can present with changes to both or a single clavicle. This particular patient has a known history of severe RA with positive serologic markers. Unilateral findings of erosions and surrounding soft tissue swelling are present.
