Presentation

A floor tiler complained of a swollen and painful right knee cap.

Patient Data

Age: 40 years
Gender: Male

Swollen prepatellar bursa with numerous T2 hypointense foci of internal debris. 

Case Discussion

Rice bodies have been first described in tuberculous arthritis but may be found in rheumatoid and mechanical chronic synovitis as well.
