Frontal

Multiple ovoid calcifications resembling grains of rice in chest and neck soft tissues.
There is also an old fibroatelectatic scar in the lower left lung.
Case Discussion
Rice grain calcifications are characteristic of infection with Taenia solium (cysticercosis); when the inflammatory response of the host kills the larval cysts (cysticerci), they undergo granulomatous change and become calcified.
