Fraying, splaying and cupping of the distal right ulna and radius metaphyses, and growth plate widening. Appearance is consistent with active rickets.
Case Discussion
This case demonstrates the typical radiographic features of active rickets.
There was a maternal history of vitamin D deficiency in this case. Nutritional vitamin D deficiency was suspected. Serum 25-Hydroxy-Vitamin D was low and parathyroid hormone was elevated.
