Case Discussion

The child was delivered by Cesarean section at 36 weeks of pregnancy (due to pre-eclampsia) with a birth weight of 2500 g. She was exclusively breastfed for eight months, then switched to mixed rice and hotchpotch. She received little sun exposure due to the weather and cultural clothing norms.

A radiological diagnosis of rickets was made, and vitamin D deficiency was subsequently confirmed. The child was treated with vitamin D supplementation.
