Riedel lobe

Generalised abdominal pain.

Patient Data

Age: 25 years
Gender: Male

PA erect study.

Unremarkable bowel gas pattern. No dilated loops of bowel or significant air-fluid levels. The right lobe of the liver extends into the pelvis, consistent with an incidental Riedel lobe. 

Case Discussion

Riedel lobe is an anatomical variant of the right lobe of the liver and is an incidental finding. It is more commonly found on CT or US 1
