There are no pulmonary emboli. Note is made of a right-sided aortic arch with a retroesophageal course of the left subclavian artery. The cardiac apex is on the left. The lungs are clear. No airspace, interstitial or nodular disease. No pleural or pericardial effusion. No suspicious bone lesions.
Right aortic arch are rare, occurring in ~0.1% of the population. There are three types:
- mirror image branching
- aberrant left subclavian artery (this case)
- isolation of the left subclavian artery
