Right atrial appendage aneurysm: antenatal ultrasound

Presentation

20-24 weeks detailed obstetric ultrasound. Second pregnancy. Parents are third degree relatives.

Fetal Cardiac scanning

4 chamber view reveals 5th room close to right atrium and right ventricle. Connection between right atrium and aneurysm.

Case Discussion

Atrial aneurysms are rare entities. Left sided aneurysms are more common than right. Left sided atrial aneurysms may be relevant with atrial arrhythmias. Right sided atrial aneurysms can be complicated by fetal hydrops
