Right middle lobe collapse

This patient presented with shortness of breath.

Patient Data

Age: 60
Gender: Female
  • Complete collapse of the right middle lobe. The air bronchogram sign is seen in the consolidated segment, no endobronchial lesions detected.
  • Horizontal fissure is not seen. A triangular density with its base at the heart seen representing the atelectatic segment of right middle lobe
  • Lung fields demonstrated minimal degree of centrilobular emphysematous mainly in both upper lobes.
