Case Discussion

The ‘Silhouette sign’ is one of the most useful signs in the chest x-ray.

It is an important radiographic indicator in diagnosis in clinical medicine, whereas the effacement of the cardiac silhouette can refer to adjoining lung pathology.

In the normal case, the difference in the density between the heart and the aerated lungs enables us to clearly visualize the cardiac silhouette.
