Right PICA territory stroke

Case contributed by Dr Maxime St-Amant

Vertigo. R/o stroke or cerebellar mass.

Patient Data

Age: 65
Gender: Female

There is an extensive hypodensity involving the right cerebellar hemisphere, with local mass effect, particularly on the 4th ventricule. The right cerebellar hemisphere appears larger than the left. No calcification or hemorrhage are seen within this hypodensity.

The hypodensity described before doesn't show any enhancement. The findings are hence compatible with acute stroke in the right PICA territory. The PICAs are not well seen on this CT-scan.
