The aortic knuckle is seen on the right side. The cardiac shadow is not enlarged.
The lung fields and costophrenic angles are clear. No pneumothorax or mediastinal shift.
The thoracic bony skeleton is unremarkable.
Case Discussion
Right sided aortic arch is an anatomical variant seen on frontal chest X-ray as a right paratracheal mass with absent normal left sided aortic knuckle. It is usually associated with mirror image branching or an aberrant left subclavian artery.
