Chest pain. Ex-smoker.

Age: 60 years
Gender: Female

Pulmonary consolidation in the right lung upper zones and apical pleural capping bilaterally. Lungs and pleural spaces are otherwise clear. No pneumothorax or subphrenic free gas. Cardiomediastinal contours are normal.

Right upper lobe posterior segment consolidation. Bi-apical pleuro-parenchymal scarring. Lungs and pleural spaces are otherwise clear.

Right upper lobe consolidation has changed in shape, now partially outlining the horizontal fissure.

Complete resolution of the RUL consolidation.

Evolving changes and resolution of right upper lobe pneumonia. Lobar pneumonia is usually caused by typical organisms – such as Streptococcus pneumonia (most common in community-acquired pneumonia).
