Extra-luminal contrast at the midpoint of the right ureter, which tracts into the right psoas collection.
The left ureter is patchily opacified along its path. The right pelvicalyceal system is mildly dilated.
The bladder is filled with contrast. No intraperitoneal contrast leak.
Drains in the right retroperitoneum from prior percutaneous drainage of fluid collection.
Case Discussion
This demonstrates a right ureteric injury from penetrating trauma. Initially the collection in the right retroperitoneum was thought to be infected hematoma, but when percutaneous drainage was performed urine was drained. Subsequent CT confirmed the ureteric injury.
