There is evidence of vertical orientation of the talus. The distal surface of the talus is inferiorly angulated resulting in inferior subluxation at the talonavicular joint.
Case Discussion
Vertical talus orientation results in a reduction or even reversal of normal arching of the midfoot, resulting in the 'rocker bottom' syndrome.
Rocker bottom deformity of the foot resulting from vertical talus orientation is an isolated finding and is considered rare. It is best appreciated in the lateral projection.
