Enlarged cardiac silhouette and bilateral pleural effusions.

ct

A very large pericardial effusion is present. The inner and outer layers of the pericardium are thickened and slightly nodular. This raises concern regarding either tumor or infection.

In addition, a large right pleural effusion is present. Even without contrast, there is mild pleural thickening on the right and a small amount of right mediastinal pleural thickening.

Case Discussion

Rosai-Dorfman disease: recurrent pericardial effusions, previous ureteral obstruction and ureteropexy.
