Acute thigh pain whilst paragliding (on impact with ground)

Patient Data

Age: 50
Gender: Male

Rupture at the musculo-tendinous junction of rectus femoris with muscle belly retraction and a fluid-filled cavity containing a small amount of clot blood (arrow showing T1 hyperintensity).  Note distal tendon is intact.
