Presentation

Diffuse abdominal pain mainly lower abdomen, amenorrhea since 7 weeks, and positive pregnancy test.

Patient Data

Age: 25 years
Gender: Female
ultrasound

The uterus is normal size with an empty intrauterine cavity.

Rt adnexa shows a thick wall cyst with a fetal pole inside, demonstrating a pulsatile wave of positive cardiac activity, surrounded by a nonvascularized heterogeneous collection of hematoma

Free fluid in the cul-de-sac, Morrison's, and splenorenal pouch.

Case Discussion

The findings of the empty intrauterine cavity, extrauterine embryonic pole, and surrounded hematoma consistent with ruptured ectopic pregnancy.

The patient was referred to an obstetric consultant for workup.
