Ruptured ovarian endometrioma with hemoperitoneum

There is a large well-defined cystic mass measuring 16 x 11 x 7 cm, arising from the left ovary. It elicits a high signal on T1 and T1 fat sat with T2 shading and no enhancement seen on postcontrast sequences.
Intraperitoneal effusion of high signal on T1 in keeping with a hemoperitoneum.

MRI features are suggestive of a ruptured large ovarian endometrioma with haemopeitoneum which was confirmed at surgery with no signs of ovarian torsion.
