Presentation

Slipped and landed on bottom. Sacrococcygeal pain and tenderness. No focal neurology.

Patient Data

Age: 45 years
Gender: Female
x-ray

Single lateral projection only. No follow-up or cross-sectional imaging.

Fracture through S5 vertebra with minimal anterosuperior displacement of fragment.
Coccyx intact.

Case Discussion

An isolated sacral fracture of S5 is rare. Most sacral fractures are associated with pelvic injuries elsewhere.
