Huge perineal mass.

Patient Data

Age: 0 days
Gender: Female

Catheter coiled in bladder.

Huge soft-tissue mass extends below the bottom of the film. Non-specific bowel gas pattern.


Huge pre-sacral soft-tissue mass composed of fluid and solid elements. It extends out of the pelvis into a huge perineal mass. 

There is local internal mass effect resulting in bilateral hydronephrosis.

Case Discussion

Appearances are those of sacrococcygeal teratoma. This was confirmed pathologically and the tumor was removed.

3 years later, there is no residual mass and the kidney upper tract dilatation has almost resolved (there is a small amount of dilatation on the right).
