Many of the different types of arthopathies overlap in their imaging features, especially in the late stages, and this is why diagnosis is usually only made using the clinical history and multiple different investigations rather than imaging alone. However each type of arthropathy has features that occur more frequently in its course than in other types, and the above illustration gives examples of these.
