Case Discussion

Salpingitis isthmica nodosa (SIN) is thought to be an inflammatory condition, but the exact cause is unknown. It is a known cause of infertility.

It is a risk factor for ectopic pregnancy and is associated to pelvic inflammatory disease.

This pathology affects the isthmus of one or both fallopian tubes.

This condition is usually diagnosed by an hysterosalpingography, during an assessment of infertility.
