Salter-Harris type II fracture

Patient Data

Age: 12 years
Gender: Male

Oblique fracture through the distal radial metaphysis reaches the physis with secondary physeal widening in keeping with a Salter –Harris type II of the distal radius.

Proximal ulnar isolated widening of the physis with a preserved metaphyseal and epiphyseal cortices with a minimal lateral deviation of the physis in keeping with a Salter –Harris type I of the distal ulna.

-Mild oedema of the subcutaneous tissues of the wrist.

12-year-old boy with trauma shows two types of Salter-Harris fracture involving the distal radius and ulna.
