Presentation

Background of spastic hemiplegia. Status post right Salter pelvic osteotomy and femoral varus derotational osteotomy.

Patient Data

Age: 17 years
Gender: Male
x-ray

Significant rotation towards right due to patient's underlying disease.

Right varus derotational osteotomy hardware in situ. Status post Salter pelvic osteotomy with two screws superiorly to right acetabulum. 

Complete ankylosis of right hip joint.

Case Discussion

Pelvic osteotomy is performed in cases of acetabular dysplasia caused by various underlying diseases.

Salter osteotomy is type of redistributing osteotomy. Transection of innominate bone is performed fallowed by rotation of acetabulum, ischium and pubis.
