Sarcoidosis (stage I)

Vague discomfort and recurrent episodes of cough. No other symptoms reported.

Patient Data

Age: 45 years
Gender: Male

Chest X-ray

Chest X-ray shows enlarged hilar structures, suggestive of bilateral hilar lymphadenopathy.

Therefore a chest CT was requested.


Contrast-enhanced chest CT

Enlarged lymph nodes are seen in the both lung hili and in the mediastinum, measuring up to 14 x 23 mm.

The lung is unremarkable. No other relevant findings.

Typical case of sarcoidosis stage I, presenting with enlarged hilar and mediastinal lymph nodes.
