Presentation

Pain on the left wrist. The patient slipped and fell to the ground forcefully with his left hand first. (+) tenderness and swelling, dorsal part of left wrist, (-) open wound.

Patient Data

Age: 35 years
Gender: Male

Left wrist

x-ray

Fracture in the left scaphoid bone with a fat pad sign.

Minimal degenerative changes in the distal radioulnar joint.

Case Discussion

Sometimes, scaphoid fractures do not appear on x-ray in the acute phase due to the edema but become clear after that.
