Presentation

Left wrist pain and swelling since 3 pm. History of patient slipped and fell on an outstretched hand. On examination: there is pain and swelling over left wrist lateral side and anatomical snuffbox side with tenderness over the scaphoid bone area and limitation on motion.

Patient Data

Age: 40 years
Gender: Male

Non displaced transverse fracture at the middle third of the left scaphoid.

Case Discussion

This non-displaced middle third scaphoid fracture needs immobilization for a duration of about 10-12 weeks.
