Scapholunate ligament disruption

Presentation

Left wrist twisting injury followed by pain

Patient Data

Age: 35 years
Gender: Male

MRI study shows widened scapholunate interval that measures more than 4 mm seen involved with a fluid signal on top of disruption of the scapholunate ligament complex that appears discontinuous. There is associated moderate dorsal tilt of the lunate, mild rotation of the scaphoid, subtle bone marrow edema of the scaphoid and lunate bones, and mild radio-carpal & intercarpal joints effusion.
