Info

Defect in the Scarpa's fascia with protrusion of fatty tissue into the superficial plane, non-reducible. No protrusion of intraabdominal estructures.

Case Discussion

The hernia of Scarpa's fascia is a rarely described condition in the literature. We found only one case reported in the medical literature, dating back to 1982. In this case, we assume that there was incarceration of the hernia contents due to the presence of cutaneous bruising and pain. The patient was managed conservatively, with complete resolution of symptoms 5 days after diagnosis.
