Typical peripherally enhancing solid mass as seen in renal cell carcinoma

Nuclear medicine

PET scan performed some 12 months previously

Hot spot at right hilum at the site of primary malignancy on PET/CT. Left kidney is normal.

CT guided biopsy

Case Discussion

Mass lesion in left kidney looks like a renal cell carcinoma but the PET scan was normal some 12 months previously so it has grown very quickly thus biopsy was performed and showed a metastatic lesion from lung.
